Watford MP, Claire Ward, and her two children have a starring role in a promotional video shown on Channel 4 aimed at highlighting the success of the Government's Sure Start children's centres .
The scheme has been particularly successful in Hertfordshire where the County Council expect to have more than 80 up and running across the county by the end of the year.
The MP spent a day filming at two locations in Watford.. Her first port of call was the Sunshine Children's Centre in Oxhey where she chatted to parents and staff about the benefits of having a one-stop shop for child care.
Later Claire spent several hours at the maternity wing at Watford General Hospital where her two children Oliver aged four months and Ruby, two, were born.
She said: "I was really keen to make this video. Sure Start is a fantastic Labour achievement and is at the heart of our mission to give every child in the country the very best start in life. These centres are also a key part of our commitment to getting rid of child poverty, tackling head on the effects of deprivation and unlocking the talents and abilities of every single child."
