David Cameron’s Tories will AXE Watford General hospital if they win the General Election.
High-ranking Conservative MP Mike Penning who’s a leading member of Tory leader David Cameron’s health team, let
the cat out of the bag when speaking to the Watford Observer.
He revealed Tory plans which would see Watford General's expansion halted and services at the new £1billion health
campus moved to a new hospital to be built on the far side of Hemel Hempstead, which – surprise, surprise,
would be in his constituency!
His proposals were immediately slammed by Watford’s Labour MP Claire Ward.
“Labour has got waiting lists down and the standard of care has improved dramatically. We all remember the old
days when the Tories left people lying around on trolleys in corridors.” More than £40 million has been injected
into Watford Hospital and that investment should not be wasted.The message is clear: vote Labour and our hospital stays open, or vote Conservative and they’ll axe it — it’s
a simple as that,“ said Claire Ward.
